RELENTLESS
I just wanted to say thanks for your attention over the past couple of weeks as we get ready to launch my new book “Relentless”.
It’s been one hell of a journey to get to this point both from mum’s rehabilitation point of view and from the book writing and publishing side.
I am beyond grateful to every single person on both of these journeys who contributed to the mission.
Without a fantastic bunch of people around me none of this would be possible and so it’s time for me to pay it forward with this book.
I really hope this book touches and empowers, inspires and motivates others to never give up, to look outside the square when it comes to you or your loved ones health, to understand the power of the mind and the ability to overcome extraordinary obstacles when your “Why” is strong enough.
I hope it encourages you to tackle your fears and walk in blind faith when you need to and to understand that no matter what your huge goal is when you break it down into tiny bite size pieces you can indeed achieve the unimaginable.
I hope the books also acts as a resource for those looking for complementary therapies and a mindset that says I am responsible for my own destiny instead of waiting for a knight in shining armour to come along and save you from your woes.

Here is the short description on the back of the book
When extreme endurance athlete, Lisa Tamati, was confronted with the hardest challenge of her life, she fought with everything she had. Her beloved mother, Isobel, had suffered a huge aneurysm and stroke and was left with massive brain damage. She was like a baby in a woman’s body. The prognosis was dire. There was very little hope that she would ever have any quality of life again. But Lisa is a fighter and stubborn beyond belief. She absolutely refused to accept the words of the medical fraternity and instead decided that she was going to get her mother back or die trying.
In January of 2016, Isobel was fighting for her life. For weeks she fell in and out of a coma, losing parts of her brain daily as vasospasms stole more and more of her brain. Whilst sitting in hospital watching her Mum slip away, Lisa went into what she calls “operational” mode. Using lessons learnt from her extreme sports career, and knowing that the human body and mind is capable of far more than what the average person would ever believe , Lisa was relentless in her search for answers. She gathered help from all corners of the world.
As her mother stabilised they realised she had nothing left: virtually no speech, no memory, no ability to control any bodily functions, even chew her food or sit properly. The lights were on but no one was home. Already aged 74, no one expected Isobel to recover at all. But Lisa inched her way forward in blind faith believing that somehow she would get her back. She put together a gruelling rehab schedule that went against traditional medical advice but ultimately saved her mother’s life.
This book tells of the horrors, the despair, the hope, the love and the incredible experiences and insights of that journey. It shares the difficulties of going against a system that has major problems and limitations. Amongst the darkest times were moments of great laughter and joy.
Relentless will not only take the reader on a journey from despair to hope and joy, but it also provides information on the treatments used. It includes expert advice and also the key principles to overcoming obstacles and winning in all of life’s challenges. It will inspire and guide anyone who wants to achieve big goals in life, overcome massive obstacles or limiting beliefs. It’s for those who are facing terrible odds, for those who can’t see light at the end of the tunnel. It’s about courage, self belief and mental toughness. And it’s also about vulnerability... it’s real, raw and genuine.
This is not just a story about the love and dedication between a mother and a daughter, but on what to do when life throws you a curveball. It is about beating the odds, never giving up hope, doing whatever it takes and what it means to go “All in”. Isobel’s miraculous recovery is a true tale of what can be accomplished when love is the motivating factor and when being relentless is the only option.
