What can I say about the New Hampshire Hamsterwheel Ultra race this weekend?
It was an epic race and a top notch event by Darby Conley and Bill Conley!! π
I knew with the cold NH temps, it wasnβt gonna be easy, but it was gonna be worth it. π₯
It coulda been so easy to stay warm in bed; and just do brunch like a normal person. But we ultra runners are not normal. π€·π»ββοΈπ
Instead I set out to accomplish my 100 mile goal I set for myself this year. To be the best version of myself and to inspire others.
This sport attracts a special kind of individual.
π One with an relentlessly optimistic attitude to just keep pushing forward. Whether you feel awesome, or you feel absolutely beyond terrible, every small step is relentless forward progress!
Individuals that are intrinsically motivated and must have a growth mindset to be successful. Complainers, negative nancies, or pessimists need not apply without first spending deliberate practice to change their mindset. ππ»
